Notes for Barbara Mickley:
I just ran across your post about the purchase of the Mickley property. Congratulations, this must be an exciting adventure for you and your family.
I am a descendant of Hans Ulrich Arner, who took out a warrant in 1742 for a nearby property above Fells Creek. His son Felix continued on the property untill his death in 1776. He is buried in the graveyard at Neff's Union cemetery. Some of the children of these men were baptised at Egypt Church and I have very much enjoyed reading about your research on the Mickley family, you have done a wonderful job with this. I hope to get up there to take a better look at the surrounding area of my ancestor's 400 acres at Rising Sun and I will be sure to pass through the Mickley homesite hopefully getting a view of the log house. The imagination is enlivened by such sights, and it looks like the Indians passed by or through the Arner homestead on their retreat though none of the Arners suffered from the attack.
So hello from a descendant of one of the neighbors of your ancestors, I find the history and geography of your area of Whitehall fascinating. Thank you for a glimpse of another family of this era and area.
