Notes for Nicholas Hittel:
MILITARY: Revolutionary War; 1777 to 1782 in the First Battalion, second
Regiment, Northampton County Militia. He also served as a fourth class in
fifth company, First Battalion, under Captain Peter Kooken.
BIOGRAPHY: He remained on the farm of his fathers. He was a man of prodigious
physical strength and was an industrious and successful farmer, and, it is
said, came to be regarded by his neighbors as a sage.
