GARNER, F.G.
F.G. GARNER, od section 33, Macedonia Twonship, was born in Carroll Co., Illinois, near Cherry Grove March 16, 1859. son of J.F. and Mary (Curry) Garner. The former was born in Jackson Co. IL, and was the son of Frank Garner, one of the first settlers of Cherry Grove, IL.
the latter was born in MO and eared in Grant County WI. near White Oak SpringsThey reared 10 children whom F.G. was teh fourth child of six sons and six daughters. Our subject resided for 22 years inthe house, engagning in farm work, receiving his education in the public schols and at Georgetown IL. He came here in 1882 and purchased his present farm of 160 acres if his uncles, I.G. Garner, who had improved the land. It islocated two and one fourth miles west of Macedonia. he was marriedin March 1889, to Miss Nettie A Wright, who was born in Grant County WI., daughterof David J and Nettie M Parks Wright, the former a native of New Yourk and the latter of Chester, Tandolf CO IL.The mother was one years of age wehn the father passed away, and she was the graduate of the Mount Morris schools.
Mrs Garner was 7 years of age when her parents removed to Chicago IL, and resided tehr for four years, then removed to Dubuque, Iowa The father died there in April 1890, and the mother resided at that place. Mr and Mrs Garner have one son, Charles W Garner, who was born in 1890 Politically Mr Garner is a Democrat, Mrs Garner is a member of the Baptist Church, having connected withteh Second Baprits Church at Dubuque.
