John William Kyle was the oldest child of eight children of Albert Sidney Kyle and Mary
Francis Heflin Kyle.He was born near Batesville, Panola County, MS, August 21, 1891.He received his early education at Batesville Grammer and Batesville High School.In 1913 he graduated from Mississippi Law Summa Laude.After graduating from the University of Mississippi, he was a Rhodes Scholar at Pembroke College, Qxford University in England, where he studied legal history, English Law, and Roman Law.The outbreak of World War One came and he left the University, and came home to Mississippi and enlisted in the Army.At Fort Chaffey inFort Smith Arkansas ,he became critically ill, and was given an Honorable Discharge.Even though he was never physically strong after that, he went home to Mississippi to practice law.He was elected to the Mississippi Senate from Panola County in 1928, and served in that capacity for twenty-two years.He had a long and full political career until his death in 1965 at the age of 74.
