Notes for JOHN HOUGENDOBLER:
First Company in Columbia on Sept 1 1775 Private in the Revolutionary Army and became a Captain in 1797 he also served in the War of 1812-1814.
He purchased 600 Acres of land in Hempfield township, near the Wrightsville Ferry, at the Close of the Revolutionary War , A part of this purchase stayed in the family for many years. (Biographical Annals of Lancaster County Page 180-181)
