From "MEYER 250+ Years in America"
My first clue to the existence of this sibling of the immigrant Moyers is the statement in Rev. Heinrich Diefenbach's travel diary of 1802 as quoted by Annette K. Burgert in which he states "Then we came to Host Church, a large stone church with a wooden schoolhouse nearby, and the cemetery is surrounded with a stone wall.Here Grandmother and her four brothers and sisters are buried."
There is an additional hint that this fifth child of Michael Meyer did in fact, actually exist.It is my guess that this child is a son and is the Christian Meyer that had land adjacent to Johannes Hans Meyer.Was it a coincidence that Christian's farm was surveyed on 24 June 1741 and Johannes Hans land was surveyed on 25 June 1741?
I have spent some time researching this Christian Meyer, but have been unable to prove either he is or he isn't the missing sibling.He might also be the Christian Meyer that was a trustee of the Altalaha Church in 1765.
The 1895 Fretz History, page 630, of the Moyer Family conjectures that the Frederick Meyer who lived at the foot of the Blue Mountain and was scalped by the Indians may be in this Meyer Family.So far no one has been able to connect him to the family.He, also, could possibly be this missing Meyer sibling.However, it appears that this Frederick and his wife were not buried in the Host Church Cemetery.
