This Amos was referred to as Captain Amos, and his militar record is listed in the F.S. Hammond's Genealogy. Amos was admitted to the Scituate Freeman in 1762. He later moved to Jerica (Hancock), Mass. and his son Amos joined the Shakers there. His son's Amos, Gideon and Willian moved with him to the Jerico area.
