I am a descendant of John Niles of Braintree, Massachusetts.And my middle name namesake is the Rev. John Sergeant, the Indian missionary in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.My genealogy research includes many linked families of the Braintree area from the 1700's.My own family tree includes descendants of Jonathan Sargent/Sergeant of Branford, Connecticut, Robert Williams of Roxbury, Massachuetts, and we have now established a link to the Francis West family of Duxbury, Massachusetts.From my mother's family my research includes the Shockey family which begins with John Christopher Shockey or Shacke from Germany and Pennsylvannia. The genealogy of my wife Linda (Buskirk) Niles includes the tracing of Laurens Andriessen of the Netherlands and New Jersey and descendants of Samuel Sergeant (Thomas2, Thomas1) of Boston, Massachusetts. Some of the families that are directly linked to the above research include Bancroft, Beckenhauer, Belcher, Ludden, Marvin, Prentice, Price, Sands, Thacher, Thomas, and Warner; but many others.
