The following is an extract from "The Cory Family History," a mimeographed document dated 1 April 1955, by Fay Cory Perrin, page 1:
"William Richard Cory born Bethel Parish, Bethloom, Cornwall Shire England 1796, died Palmyra, Wis., April 1, 1872, burial Zion Cemetery.Landston was the largest town and Boscastol was the harbor, Cornwall.William Richard had a brother who went to Australia at an early day and a twin brother named George.He was a minister but as a young man he lost one eye in an accident while working on a stone road.This affected the sight of the other eye and at the time he came to America he was totally blind.About 1829 he married Martha Bailey who was born Warbestow Parish, Kenwerthywater, Cornwall Shire, the daughter of John and Nancy Bailey.They lived near and northwest of Plymouth where their children were born.About 1864-5, his wife having burned to death, he came with his youngest son Daniel and his daughter Rachel and a young grandson Thomas Green to Palmyra, Wis., in 1866.The rest of his sons had preseded him to Palmyra and the oldest son John had a home established so William Richard made his home with John until he died. ... "

" ... John Bailey came from Scotland to Warbestow Parish, Kenwerthywater, Cornwall Shire England.He was a blacksmith and also owned a small farm.Married Nancy _____.She was the village teacher and taught small farm children to read, using the Bible as a textbook. ... "

" ... James Cory ... Came to Palmyra, Wis., with his brother Thomas about 1860.Served in the armed service Civil War.Enlisted Jefferson [County], Wis., April 29, 1861, Pvt. Co. E, 4th Wis., Cavalry term of 3 years.Gave age as 21, home as Sullivan Wis., Mustered into U. S. Service Racine, Wis., July 2, 1861.Died in service at Baton Rouge, La., August 11, 1862.Cause, heart disease.He is not buried in Wisconsin. ... "

Thomas Cory ... born near Plymouth England May 6, 1843.He and his brother James came to America about 1860; they being the third and fourth of the Cory Clan to settle in Palmyra, Wisconsin.Married about 1863 to Betse Ann Pieper, born 1847.Thomas died April 3, 1892.Wife Betse Ann died May 25, 1877. ... "

Daniel Cory, born 24 June 1846 in Plymouth England; died 19 March 1926 in Nashua Iowa.He married Mary Jane lander 06 January 1869 in Palmyra Wisconsin; born 26 May 1850 in Cornwall England; died 11 March 1904 in Republic Iowa.

" ... Daniel Cory, youngest son of William Richard and Martha (Bailey) Cory.Born near Plymouth England June 24, 1846, died Nashua, Iowa March 19 1926.He came to Palmyra, Wisconsin with his father and youngest sister Rachel [in] 1866; the last of the Cory Clan to settle there.Married Palmyra January 6, 1869 to Mary Jane Lander, born Cornwall England May 26, 1850.Came with her parents Henry and Alice (Welch) Lander to Palmyra in 1856 and died at Republic, Iowa March 11, 1904.In 1877 she and her husband joined the Free methodist Church and in 1888 they moved to Iowa where they bought 160 acres of land about two miles northeast of the now famous Little Brown church.it was here that their two youngest children were born; the rest having been born in Palmyra, Wisconsin.They continued to occupy and operate this farm until 1902 when the mother's failing health forced their retirement and they moved to Republic, Iowa where she died in 1904.A few years later, Daniel with the three younger children, moved to an acreage which he bought near the "Big 4" Fairgrounds at Nashua, Iowa.Daniel continued to live here and raise some berries and garden produce until his death.Both he and his wife are buried in Green Wood Cemetery, Nashua.He was a good and kindly man, and an active church worker and is missed by all who knew him. ... "
