Notes for ISHAM SR NORTON:
I have no documentation that Isham Norton had a son by the name of James. I do have a letter from Mary Norton Doggett dated November 30, 1981 and she said he did have a son named James Norton.. Mary Norton Doggette was a member of the DAR. All the Isham Norton information I have is posted at the site below.

William and James Norton was paid money from the Estate of James Sexton, June Court 1787 Northampton County, North Carolina.E-mail October 27, 2002 from Joseph Moore, "Berry, William G, Nazareth and Silas are probably brothers."According to Apprentice & Orphan Records of Richmond County, NC, Silas Norton, 8 years and 6 months old and Zella Hathcock, 5 years old were bound to William Norton, June 1816 in Richmond County, NC. .
Mark Hathcock, 13 years old,'Orphan and Elijah Hathcock, 10 years old, 'Orphan were bound to Nazareth Norton, (no date, Nazareth died before 1850.)

Thomas Hathcock is believed to be Thomas Hathcock Jr. mentioned in the Thomas Hathcock Sr. land records in Anson County, North Carolina in 1779... Thomas (Jr) in1795, a Deed of Gift is found in the Fairfield County, South Carolina court records indicating that Thomas Hathcock (Jr) was a shoe maker who lived on the "Old Muster Grounds." Thomas Hathcock in this Deedgave his son John Heathcock all of his household goods and shoemaker tools.

Source: Duglas W Hathcock, Samuel was probably born in North Carolina between 1725 and 1755. The only records of him found thus far are the 1800 Cenus of Kershaw County, South Carolina & the1805 and 1806 taxdefaulters list of Burke County, Georgia.
