| Notes for JAMES L. STAMBAUGH: STAMBAUGH, James Stambaugh 1949-1999Preston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for James Stambaugh, 49, who died Saturday, March 13, at his Thelma residence. Mr. Stambaugh was born July 9, 1949, in Johnson County, to the late Glenn and Anna Belle Meade Stambaugh. He was a funeral director at Preston Funeral Home and a member of Southside Freewill Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Debra Johnson Stambaugh; and three brothers, Larry Stambaugh of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Curtis Stambaugh of Romulus, Michigan, and Ruby Glenn Stambaugh of New Orleans, Louisiana. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 16, at Southside Freewill Baptist Church, with Eddie Young and Jessie Meade officiating. Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville. Notes for RUBY LEE MEADE:
Pfc. Ruby L. Meade, 22 was killed in action in Korea July 25, 1953, according to a telegram received last week by his wife, Helen Ward Meade, from the Defense Department.
Born 12-19-1930, at Nippa, he was the son of Paris and Nora Burchett Meade, who survive.
He addended Oil Springs High School Prior to entering the service.
Surviving besides his parents and wife are one son, Gary Lee, two sisters, Miss Ruth Meade and Mrs Glen Stambaugh, Ypsilanti, MI., three brothers, Carl and Clyde Meade, Ypsilanti, MI, and Ray Meade at home.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.
NOTE: Burial took place in the Richmond Cemetery in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky

JOHNSON COUNTY — Helen Meade, 69, of Paintsville, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004 at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington. Born July 11, 1935, in Johnson County, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Virginia Hall Ward. She was a retired social worker with the Johnson County Health Department. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruby Lee Meade. Survivors include a son, Gary Meade of Paintsville; a sister, Joann Castle of Paintsville; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. today, Friday, Oct. 8, at Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James K. Caudill officiating. Marvin and Pam had only been married about 10 weeks when Marvin died. Marvin, his brother, cousin and a couple of friends went to the family cabin for the weekend to ride dirt bikes.They were unaware that there was a butane leak in the refrigerator and all of them were killed.
