WELCOME TO JUSTINES FAMILY PAGES
History has always fascinated me.I loved to listen to my grandmother and great grandmother tell stories about "when they were young" and stories that had been handed down to them. This page is the result of those stories. How I wish they could see this now - all the skeletons, the coincidences and the happy stories. Many unanswered questions - maybe they could answer them for us. One thing I have noticed in my research is that family stories usually have a small grain of truth to them and should be stored away for future reference. One such story is this:When I was about 9 my great grandmother would wag her finger at me and say "The pages are sealed together, no one will unseal the pages"! OK, whatever. When Nana died and then her daughter, my grandmother, we found an old Bible in her things - printed in 1619, and in the middle of that Bible were "2 pages sealed together"!!!!Well, I had those professionally unglued a few years ago - what a shock, in those sealed together pages was a family tree for Lord Clive of India, from about 1550 - 1700.What on earth was Nana doing with that? What incensed her so much to glue them together? Nanas ancestors were the Hills and Vaughans, she was Martha Isabella Vaughan - so if you know the answer - I would LOVE TO KNOW. NB;PLEASE NOTEThe Main lines of most of our trees have been verified, BUT the Vaughans of the Beli line has been taken from history books and The Montgomeryshire Collections. They may contain errors - let me know if you find any. I would like to thank all my "cousins" who have contributed to these trees - so much work that has been freely given.Thankyou. | WELCOME TO JUSTINES FAMILY PAGES Updated August 11, 2011 |
