| OBITUARY:Sheldon L. Orwig, 78, of 445 Main died at 9:12 A.M. Saturday, December 16, 2000 at his residence.Born September 4, 1922, in Cass Township, Fulton County, to Clarence L. and Viola F. Butler Orwig, he married Donna J. Askew on March 21, 1948 in Cuba.She survives.Also surviving are two sons, Troy (and Barbara) of Sullivan, Indiana and Timothy of Smithfield; one daughter, Toni (Mrs. Larry) Strode of Fairview; 10 grandchildren; four great -grandchildren and one brother of Crawfordsville, Indiana.He was preceded in death by one grandson and one great-grandson.He was a sales representative for Golden Harvest Seed Co.He farmed in the Smithfield area for many years.He was a member of Cuba Masonic Lodge and the Fulton County Farm Bureau.He was a current Cass Township Board member and Democratic precinct committeeman.He was past president and past secretary of Cuba School Board, past president of Mid Century Board of Directors, past member of Tri County Farmers Co-op Board and past member of the Fulton County Board.He was a member of Brock United Methodist Church in Smithfield, where he served on the board of trustees.Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at his church.The Rev. Stacey Tomich will officiate.Visitation will be from 5 to 7 tonight at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba, with Masonic services at 6:30 P.M.Burial will be in the Baughman Cemetery in rural Smithfield.Memorials may be made to his church. |
