Brother Hubert Preston was born March 31, 1897.He was the son of Rev. Jessie Preston and Alvene Murphy Preston which both have preceded him in death.He met and was married to Sallie Price, May 18, 1918 and to this union was born two children, Ernest Preston, Columbus, Ohio and Ruth Rowland, Ashland, Kentucky and three sisters Mrs. Zelda Ward, Mrs. Sula Lewis, Meally, KY and Mrs. Envie Rice, Stambaugh, KY.Three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.He was converted and joined the church February 20, 1939.Baptized by the hand of Brothers Ide Preston and Tip Preston. He was ordained a Deacon of Buffalo Church the first Saturday in June 1949.He lived faithful to his office until death. Brother Hubert came to the end of his journey October 2, 1960, being 63 years, 6 months, 2 days old.He leaves to mourn his passing a lovign loving wife, 2 children, 13 grandchidlren grandchildren and a host of brothers and sisters in the church.

Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, February 24, for Icie Mildred Preston Ratliff, 88, who died Sunday, February 21 1999 at Mountain Manor of Paintsville.
Mrs. Ratliff was born June 12, 1910, in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, to the late Lafe and Bessie Music Preston, she was a member of the Buffalo United Baptist Church.
She was also preceded in death by two husbands, Reggie Preston, in December 1979, and James Ratliff in December 1992.
Surviving are three sons, Paul E. Preston, of Red Bush, and Homer I. and Jesse Preston, both of Springboro, Ohio; one daughter, Emaline Mullins, of Meally; three sisters, Sarah Childers, Mabel Williams and Virgie Hamlin, all of Fairborn, Ohio; and 16 grandchildren, 31 great- grandchildern
and four great-great grandchildren.
Officiating at 11;00 a.m. services at Buffalo United Baptist Church at Meally, will be Claude Mollette, Dewey Mac Mullins, and Kenny Preece.
Burial will be in Preston Family Cemetery at Meally, with Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel in charge of arrangements.

She was a lifetime resident of Johnson County.She married Dec. 14, 1931 to Charles H. Lewis, who survives her death.To this union was born 4 sons and 6 daughters.Surviving are Vencil Harold of Port Saint Lucy, FL; Charles, Jr. of Paintsville; Ronald Dean and Don Edward both of Franklin, OH, Irene McClellan of Port Huron, MI; Hazel McCloud of Englewood, OH; Billie Jean Taylor of Satellite Beach, FL; Jearlene Meadows of Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY; and Mary Arlene Boyd of Ashland, KY. Preceding her in death was one daughter, Melany in 1941. Also surviving are one brother, Reggie Preston of Meally and one sister Zellie Ward of Meally; 16 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.
She was converted, Jan. 5, 1949 and was baptised Jan. 6, 1949 and took fellowship with Buffalo United Baptist Church Feb. 1, 1949.
