CECIL SHORT
Cecil Short, 69, died last Wednesday, August 1, 1979, at his Meally home the victim of an apparent heart attack.
The son of the late Grant and Susie Preston Short, he was born February 11, 1910, at Meally. Mr. Short was a retired coal miner, member of the Van Lear Masonic Lodge, No. 885, F & FM, and a member of the Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife, Lenora Walters Short; six sons, Chester Short and Lloyd Short both of Meally, Eddie Short, Clyde Short and Tommy Short all of Lebanon, Ohio and Paul Short of Franklin, Ohio; three daughters, Roberta Roe and Betty Mullins, both of Lebanon, and Rebel Wisner, of Danville; seven grandchildren; two brothers, J.H. Short of Meally and Arnold Short of Winchester; two sisters, Nora Jordan and Ruby Williams, both of Columbus.
Funeral services for Mr. Short were held Saturday, August 4, in the Meally Church of Christ with the Reverend Jerry Scott officiating.
Burial was in the J.H. Short Cemetery at Meally.
Pallbearers were Arville Short, Homer Short, J.P. Short, Eugene Short, Larry Price, Clyde Phelps, Kenny Music, Dewey MacMullins, Roger Short and Bill David Murray.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home.

LENORA SHORT
1912-1994
Paintsville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements for Lenora Walters Short, 82, who died Sunday, December 4 1994, at her Meally residence.
Mrs. Short was born November 27, 1912, in Johnson County, the daughter of the late Leonard and Bertha Ward Walters.
She was a member of the Buffalo United Baptist Church.
Also preceding her in death was her husband, Cecil "Slim" Short, on August 1, 1979.
Surviving are six sons, Chester and Lloyd Short, both of Meally; Eddie and Paul Short, both of Franklin, Ohio; and Clyde and Tommy Short, both of Lebanon, Ohio; three daughters, Roberta Roe and Betty Mullins, both of Lebanon, Ohio; and Rebel Wisner of Manville; one sister, Julie Price of Ashland; and nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one step-grandson.
Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, December 7, at 11:00 a.m. at Buffalo United Baptist Church, Meally, with Elders Claude Mollett and Burnis Mollett officiating.
Burial will be in the Short Cemetery at Meally.
