aforesaid, do hereby constitute and appoint Col JBC Sloan my true and
lawful Attorney for me and in my name to receive of any Pay-Master or
Quarter-Master of the Confederate States who may be authorized to pay
the same, the arrears due my husband W.J. Dalton now deceased, and late
a private in Company (F) Orr Rifle Regiment, South Carolina payment
amounting to Ninety Six 76/100 Dollars ($96.76) according to a Certificate
from the Treasury Department, Second Auditor's Office No. 15898, dated
9 day of May, 1864 admitted and certified by Comptroller Lewis Crougan
Esq., of date the 23 of May, 1864, which paper now accompanies these
presents.

&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbspGiving to my said Attorney JBC Sloan full power and authority to do and
perform whatsoever may be necessary and requisite to collect the same, as
fully and entirely as if I were personally present and did the same.
