WELCOME to the website of PAHAPILL FAMILY TREE! The site provides genealogy information on descendants of the Pahapills living in late 1700s / early 1800s at the Aadama farm and homestead, in the village of Võhma, Mustjala County, Saaremaa, Estonia. However, known roots of their family name reach back to 1645, to Tõnnis Pahapill (ref: "Eesti Entsüklopeedia" 1994, part 7, page 139), whose home was a few kilometers north of Võhma, in "Pahapilli küla" - the Pahapill village, on the north shores of Saaremaa. For additional information on the roots of Pahapills, their family name and various locations of their early homesteads - refer to maps and articles in "Related Links" section of the website. On the linked Mustjala County map, the Pahapill village is located about a kilometer South of points 6 and 7, Võhma at points 3, 4 and 5. Names of individuals included in the family tree are listed in the Index of Individuals part of "My Family History" section of the website. For some individuals, additional notes and/or a picture is provided, marked accordingly and open by mouse-click. Due to ongoing changes in the software used for building the family tree, the Family History section is no longer updated and displays its June 30, 2012 set of posted data; and, the all-inclusive family tree chart ”InterneTree" listed in the Family History section does not open in some browsers; however, the family book (see next paragraph) is updated as new information is received. An updated (private) version of the family tree is posted on the ANCESTRY.com software, listed in the "Related Links" section of the present website; however, access to it is by permission from its authors-ref. the e-mail address listed above these notes. Individual chapters of the Pahapill Family Book can be viewed from the linked file "The Pahapill Family Book / Pereraamat", found in the "Related Links" section of the website. By "clicking" on a specific chapter in the book's "Chapter-Summary" page, that chapter opens in a PDF-format. Complete chapters - as well as their individual pages - are printable directly from the website. In the publicly displayed family tree and family book, some personal information on living individuals is replaced with the word "private". Should you wish to obtain the blocked-out information on someone, please send an e-mail with the information on his / her relationship to you, to the address listed above the text-section of this website. By choice, some individuals have been excluded from the publicly displayed family tree. Eldest member of the clan - Jaak of Sepa / "Sepa Jaak" - was born around the year 1700. However, as is noted above, roots of the clan's family name reach back to the year 1645. Throughout the Family Tree and Family Book, women are listed by maiden name. For aiding the process of finding certain branches of the clan in the family book, spousal family names are also noted in some parts of the book. Presently, the Pahapill Family Tree spans 11 generations, contains 1107 individuals, 349 marriages and 313 different surnames (names of some individuals and relationships are are not listed in the family tree and family book). In order to assist us in "completing" our family tree (however, it should be noted that due to the dynamic nature of family trees - births, marriages and deaths occur - it is a continuously changing entity!), we appeal to relatives and friends worldwide, who have information about any Pahapill, his or her spouse or descendant not listed in the various branches of the family tree displayed here (or, where the data presented is incomplete, perhaps even incorrect), to send us the missing and / or corrected information via the e-mail address noted above. For this, our sincere THANK YOU in advance! John (Johannnes) Pahapill Great-grandson of Laas (Tehna) Pahapill.
