Louis Oliver Sr., Cournia (b. 29 March 1890, d. 19 June 1967)Louis Oliver Sr., Cournia (son of John Baptiste Cournia and Esther Mary Bebeau) was born 29 March 1890 in Barron, Wisconsin, and died 19 June 1967 in Crookston, Polk, Minnesota.He married (1) Ann Elizabeth Mulvaney on 29 September 1915 in Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Crookston, Minnesota, daughter of John Bernard Mulvaney and Anne Kenehan.He married (2) Jennie Conneran Sullivan on 1949.

Lived in Crookston all his married life, farming south of Crookston.
He and Ann were active leaders in the Fairfax-Andover Cummunity.He was also a member of the District #228 school board for many years and was a member of the executive board of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, the church where he was married and all of his children were baptized and confirmed. When the Cathedral was remodeled, Louis donated the new Baptimal Font in appreciation, confident it would be used for many years to come for his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Louis and Ann were instrumental in organizing the very well known Kitson 4-H club and served as adult leaders during the time their children were members.
They also helped start the Kittson community club and were active and were active in the Fairfax-Andover Club.
All eleven of Louis and Ann are graduates of either the Cathedral or Mount St. Benedict High Schools and most of them at a time when they had to provide their own transportation, so Louis Sr. clocked up many miles to assure his family of getting a high school education.Ann E. cournia passed away on August 8, 1946 at the age of 51 and three years later Louis married Jennie (Conneran) Sullivan.Their farm home was the hospitable gathering spot for many family re-unions of the Cournia and Sullivan children until the death of Jennie in 1956.Louis Sr. passed away after a series of heart attacks on June 19, 1967 (but not before he realized his dream of visiting Rome) leaving fifty three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.The present number of grandchildren (July 1979) is fifty five living and five deceased and the great grandchildren number fifty two.
