Maude Ella Park, 76, wife of Forniss R. Park and life long resident of MadisonCounty, died Sunday, March 23, 2003, at her home. Mrs. Park was born on June15, 1926 in the community of Union City. Upon graduation from Central HighSchool in 1943, she began work with the Production Management Association(PMA). In 1953 she began work at the State Bank and Trust Company and retiredfrom Bank One in June of 1990. Mrs. Park was a long time member of Union CityBaptist Church where she was church pianist, taught Sunday school andparticipated in mission activities of the Stella Parke Circle.
In recent years she became a member of First Baptist Church, where she was afaithful member of the Gleaners Sunday school class and the Cara Matthews Womenon Mission’s Group. Mrs. Park was also an active member of the AltrusaInternational local chapter and the Madison County Democrat Women’s Club. Shewas preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walker (Stella) Parke andtwo brothers, Harvey Brown Parke and Walker Million Parke.
Mrs. Park is survived by her husband, Forniss; daughter, Estelle Ann (BenjaminJ.) Bayer; two granddaughters, Laura Brown (Kenny) Dedic and Frances ParkBayer; great granddaughter, Natalie Brown Dedic; two special nephews, David andStephen Parke; special niece, Timi Parke May, and numerous special friends inthe community.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at theFirst Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Fort officiating. Burial will follow inthe Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today, March 24,2003, at the Turpin Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be David Parke, StephenParke, Tommy Tudor, Mike Park, Karl Park, Harold Kaylor, Bert May, and RickyMuse. Honorary pallbearers will be the Gleaners Sunday School Class. In lieu offlowers, donations can be made to the Kentucky Baptist Children’s Home in careof First Baptist Church, Richmond.
