David and Sarah moved to Texas around 1847 and settled in Leon County.
David Jr. was a Farmer in Leon Co., TX. In 1850, the value of his real estate was $437.00 !
David served as Sheriff in Leon Co., TX. from 1856 to 1859. He lived in Centerville in 1858. He built a log cabin and farmed the land. He was a Baptist.
Children living at home in the 1850 Leon Co. Census were John S. age 16 (s/o Naomi and her husband John Matthews) , Mary age 12 ( d/o David's brother John), Margaret Green 4 ( d/o David's sister Elizabeth and her husband Gideon Green), all born in AL. Sarah Ruthie was not on this Census.
David and his son David (born in 1829) died within four months of one another in 1856. Isaac and Nathaniel were the Administrators of both Davids Estates combined.
David ( born 1786), his Estate was valued at $4,544.55. and his son David's Estate was valued at $2,173. Since their was no wife or children mentioned for David ( born 1829 ), the Estate went to David Jr.'s (born 1786) heirs which were: Hopson Burleson, John, Isaac, Benjamin, John, Moses W., Elizabeth who was wife of Gideon Green, Nathaniel, Rebecca ( wife of Isaac Whitley), James Burlison who is deceased leaving 10 children to receive his portion, Naomi Riley who is deceased and was the late wife to Sanders Riley and her children John L (S.), and Nancy Burleson wife of Moses Nettles.( note: John is listed twice. The 1st should be Joshua).
The Burlesons, Fredericks and Hobsons farms were joined togather in Rutherford Co., TN. and that is how David Jr. met his future wife Sarah.

Sarah had written a letter to her parents David and Ursula on 15 Jan 1826. I have transcribed it as it was written.
"Jenewary the 15th Day 1826
Onred father and mother we are in a reable State of helth thanks be to God for his goodness bestoed on us all. hoping these lines will fin you all in good helth. we reced youre leter from the hand of Mr. Polk and was glad to heare that you are Doing well but was Sorea to heare that you had but little thought Ever Cuming to see us any more.
Dear Father and Mother pleas to Spare no panes Riting to us, we have another Sun was born the 1d Day of November. John Brooks and Beedy Brooks is mared to the name of Culverson and Polly Brooks has another Sun was born a few dayes before Crismus. Corn is very scarce and Dear from sventy five Cents to one Dollar pur Bushel. Cotton is aboute 12 Dollars pur hundred. Old Aunt Martha is still living at hir old place and hir yongest sun lives with him and is single.
Father I desier one thing of you that is to Rite to me and whare all my brothers is and name them Name by Name for I never Can hear nothing from William and I want to heare from him and So I'll Conclude my letter hoping you will answe my Request so Still Remaining youre loving Sun and Daughter tell Deth."
