Per 'The Day Before Yesterday in Blasdell' page 7 mentions Smith SALISBURY, an elderly pioneer from Vermont. In the substantial plank house would one day be born Oliver Cromwell SALISBURY, who was to become the second president of our village, and the first chief of our fire department. The descendants of Smith SALISBURY were many and influential in the town.

Miss PRAY has given years of faithful service on the faculty of B. H. S., having organized the commercial department about 1925. At present, Miss PRAY is assistant to the principal.

Notes for BERTHA SOPHIE HINTZ:
Yes this is - Could this be the Bertha FRINIG? in the 1910 census who is living with Mort C. SALISBURY as a servant?. Yes... Robert C. PRAY gave me her maiden name as HINTZ. [See his notes.] Looking at my copy of the printout from the census, it is possible the name is HINTZ not FRINIG as I was making it out to be. The age is the same. My copy is poor so unless I rerent this film again sometime, I won’t know for sure. I now believe this listing is Bertha HINTZ. She was born in New York per 1910 Census. I believe since George was a few years younger, he introduced her to his older brother Clarence who was 6 years older and they got married. George was living there as a boarder. George was 18, she was 27 and brother Clarence living elsewhere as a boarder was 24. (this would be Maurice SALISBURY - no relation)
Her last names looks like it might be HEINTZ on Ella Mary PRAY's SS-5 application. Everything else says HINTZ.MKNP June 2001.
Per 'The Day Before Yesterday in Blasdell' page 62 mentions the creation of a Home Bureau unit in April 1928, a group of homemakers that help the community. Mrs. Clarence PRAY assisted the chairman.
1900 New York Census: Bertha HINTZ, blank column, white, female, December ?, 1881 ?, age 12 ?, single, cannot read the rest for birthplaces, can read and write, speaks English.
Living with Martiner ? SALISBURY, head of house, his wife Ella, daughter Lillian, and Lena GIFFORD, mother-in-law. (this would be Maurice SALISBURY - no relation)
Per 1910 Census - April: George PRAY; boarder with Mort C. SALISBURY in Blasdell; male; white; age 18; single; born in PA; father born in PA; mother born in PA; speaks English; occupation roll turner at steel mill; worker; not out of work in 1909 or 1910; can read and write; # 4, 9, 4, 0 in other columns. Living at 29 Lake Ave.
Per 1915 NY State Census - June: Clarence; head of house; white; male; age 29; born US; citizen; occupation is roll turner; Class W. Bertha; wife white; female; age 32; US; citizen; housework. Viola M.; daughter; white; female; age 1; US; citizen. Living on Miriam Ave., Blasdell, Hamburg, Erie County, New York.
Per 1925 NY State Census - June: Clarence; head of house of 6; white; male; age 39; born US; citizen; occupation is roll turner at steel mill; class W. Bertha; wife; white; female; age 42; US; citizen; housework. Viola; daughter; white; female; age 11; US; citizen; school. Clarence Jr.; son; white; male; age 9; US; citizen; school. Vivien; daughter; white; female; age 4; US; citizen. Ella M.; daughter; white; female; age 1; US; citizen. Living on Madison Ave. in Blasdell, Hamburg, Erie County, New York.
