Transcript of will of Amos Putnam
I give and bequeath unto my well beloved wife, Hannah, theeasterly end of my dwelling house which I now live in from top to bottom got her own improvement so long as she remains my widow, and all my indoor moveables to her own disposal among my children as she shall think proper.I give and bequeath to my said wife one whole third part of the income of all my real estate in Danvers which I shall di______ of, to be annually brought in to her, for her own improvement as she shall think proper and two good milk cows with all their annual income.And six cord of good oak or walnut wood, to be brought to her ready cut and fit for the fire.Also one third part of income from my flock of sheep annually brought in to her.One quarter of a hundred of good sugar, five gallons of molasses, two gallons of rum, one hundred pounds of good beef and two hundred pounds of good pork, the whole to be provided for and delivered to her, my aforesaid wife, annually by my executor hereafter named.
Item. I give and bequeath unto my three sons, Amos, Joshua&Uzziel all the lands which I have lying & being in the township ofNew Salem, to be equally divided amongst them.Also I give &bequeath to each of my aforesaid sons (___) Amos, Joshua &Uzziel the sum of Twenty Six Pounds, Thirteen Shillings &Fourpence lawful money the one half of said sums to be paidunto each of them in two years after my decease and the otherhalf in four years after my decease by my executor hereafternamed, to each of them & their heirsforever.
Item. I give & bequeath unto my son Daniel, the one half of mydwelling house & barn in Danvers, 'tell tho d_____ of my aforsaidwife, reserving to her a convenient privilege in the barn forkeeping such stock of cattle ___, as, the
she'll have o__tion for at any time.I also give unto him, my saidson, Daniel, the whole of my real & personal estate, which is not,heretofore otherwise disposed of, which ______ in Danvers &
Middleton.And after the decease of my wife, I give & bequeathto my aforesaid son, Daniel, all that part of my dwelling house &barn which I have bequeathed to my above said wife to him & hisheirs forever.
Item. I give & bequeath unto my daughter, Lydia, the sum ofTwenty Six Pounds Thirteen Shillings & Fourpence lawful money,the one half to be paid unto her in two years after my deceaseand the other half in four years after my decease by my executorhereafter named, to her and her heirs forever.
I hereby constitute, ordain & appoint my aforesaid son, Daniel
Putnam, to be sole executor of thismy last will and testament, willing & enjoining him to pay together with the legacy above mentioned, all my just debts and funeral charges.I hereby make and ordain this to be my last will & testament renouncing, disannulling and making void all other forms, wills or bequeathments what forever made by me in testimony whereof I do hereunto set my hand and seal the day and date find above mentioned.
