Victoria D. Horn (b. Abt. 1885, d. Abt. 1972)

We know little factual history of our Grandmother Victoria. After the family gets copies of this I hope they feel free to write their own memories and notes about her.
I remember her as a slender woman about 5'7" tall with dark brown eyes and almost black hair. She claimed decent from Mary Smith, a Choctaw woman who married ancowboy named Tom Horn. Not the famous one by the dates though it was all in Texas and Oaklahoma Territory .
Victoria said she met Mr. Charles CecilPyle, his brother Jim and his wife Constance when her family was travling from Texas to Oaklahoma Territory to get land. She was a "teen ager" and by the time her parents established land she had married Charles C. Pyle, and her first child was born in Oaklahoma. Then they wentto Louisianna. Mr. Pyle became a barber and they then moved to California around Los Angelos. TH my father was born in 1902 in Los Angelos.
Mr. Pylehad his business out on Catalina and in a short while Victoria and he were divorced. My Mother met him in 1921 when she and TH Pyle went to Catalina on a honeymoon.
My Dad told me his mother more or less raised him alone. She remarried Chester Pierce around 1910 in Los Angelos.
His father it seems remarried and had another child a girl and her name was Weona or Winona ( cant establish this name.)Charles Pyle also seems to have had Scottwith him most of the time. He was called Scott atthe time I knew him and in the California Death Index his full name is Charles Scott Pyle.
In the Cesus of 1910 Chester was alone then in 1920 Chester is listed with Della as his spouse and TH (Thelmar) as his stepson. In 1930 Chester is listed with Vicky D. as his spouse. I see that Vicky actually used this name and Della on papers. She can not be located under the maiden name of Horn.I have also looked for Victoria Della Cruz Horn which is what my mother recalled. My brother said she was misspelling de la Cruz which could have been a last name and Horn her mothers name. I will check this out.
