James and Sarah sailed from Longgford, Wo, Ire, on 9 May 1729 on the ship George and Ann from Belfast, IRE arriving about 4 Sep 1729, bringing son John. A number of other immigrants accompanied them, including McCunes, McDowells,, McCampbells, McKees, and the Rev John Irvine and wife. He first settled in Bucks co, Pennsylvania, thence to Bucks County, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, where he reared his family. Both the Irvines and the McElroys (McIlroy) were from famous Irish and Scottish Clans and very proud of their heritage; thus their names were assigned to many of the Wilson descendants to the present time. James and Sarah had at least 3 boys, Sasmuel and his two brothers, all three of whom married Irvine girls.James and all five sons fought in the French and Indian War and Revolutionary War. Archibald was killed in the battle of Kings Mountain, Samuel was present as a soldier at the surrender of Cornwallis. The family removed to Campbell co SV about 1760. The three younger sons married, in Virginia,. He is said to have removed from Virginia to South Carolina . His descnedants are probably in the Carolinas, Georgia, TN, and other Southern states. .James's will "Prince Edward co, Virginia Wills, 1754-1776, R975.5 Prince", Copywright 1991 by T.L.C.
