Samuel Robinson, like his father, is referenced frequently in "The Dorchester Town Records".On 3 October 1666 he was elected Supervisor of the highways.On 4 January 1667 he was chosen as Constable.He was listed on 13 November 1667 as owning 7 acres.He helped to put windows and shingles on the schoolhouse for which is recorded as being paid on 4 October 1668.John Wales lodged a complaint against Samuel on 14 September 1670 for digging 2 loads of clay.Like his father, William, Samuel had regular appointments for maintenance of a section of the Dorchester common corn field fence near "The Great Lots" and down to the Neponset River.He was chosen as (highway) Supervisor on 1 January 1673.He was given liberty to get 2 loads of "Cloboards" from the Common Swamps on 29 January 1675.He was assigned responsibility for laying out a road improvement from the Neponset Mill including up the hill on this side of the mill and also the way from Dedham to the mill landing and also to the New Bridge near Robert Spurr's place on 9 February 1677.On 3 October 1677 he was chosen as a Selectman and again in 1680.On 13 January 1682 he was appointed to run lines from Braintree to Dorchester from the top of the Blue Hills to the Patent line.Later that same year he was chosen as a Rater and so again in 1683.On 26 November 1684 he was assigned to help survey Purgatory Swamp.

Notes for INCREASE ROBINSON:
Increase Robinson was one of several freemen who were part of "The North Purchase" which increased the size of Taunton, MA, then part of the original Plymouth Colony, significantly and another less dramatic enlargement to the southwest of Taunton, both in 1672.
In October of 1678 Increase Robinson was appointed by the court of Plymouth Colony "to take notice of such liquors as are brought in disorderly into the town of Taunton and to make seizure thereof according to ordinance".
Increase Robinson was listed as a surveyor for the town of Taunton in 1671.
Deed and Probate information:
5/5/1692 - Increase and Sarah of Taunton sell land in Bristol to John Cary of Bristol.
12/21/1698 - "...out of that fatherly affection and good will which I bear unto my eldest son Increase Robinson of Taunton....a dwelling, house...."
