He servedas a city councilman,for two years as mayor of Punta Gorda, Fl.
For more than 20 years he acted as volunteer weather observer and storm warning official for Charlotte County. He was a past worshipful master of the Punta Gorda Lodge 155, F&AM;a member of the Egypt Temple Shrine, and charter member of the Ft. Myers Shrine Club.
