Russell.Info: [email protected] SCOTTISH PHOTOS: Our family is descended from John Russel and Margaret McAlpine who lived in the parish of Cambusnethan, Lanarkshire, Scotland.We have photograph albums from TWO of their 9 children who emigrated to Ontario Canada: John Russell (1797-1875) and his wife Janet Smillie (1802-1894) who arrived in 1834, and Robert Russell Sr (1808-1881) and his wife Grace Brownlie (1806-1894) who arrived later in 1867. Branches of both families lived inCarluke, Ancaster, Hamilton, Toronto and Bobcaygeon. A third sibling, Jane Russel (1805-1885) and her husband Robert Gray Sr (1807-1896) arrived in Lambton County Ontario in 1854 and settled near Alvinston.Another sibling was George Russell who married Elizabeth George.Their son, George Russell died in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, USA, in 1916.
