My primary search concerns ancestors of Joel BALL who was born Feb 20, 1800 in Amboy, Middlesex Co., N.J. and died Dec. 16, 1893 in Dundee, Monroe Co., MI.Joel married Margaret VREELAND in Romulus, Seneca Co., N.Y. on Oct 13, 1821.Joel was 2 yrs old when his father died, and Joel moved to Seneca Co.,N.Y. as a youth. There he worked on the Erie canal. Any information on Joel's parents, etc. would be most welcomed!Joel's father may have been Aaron Ball, but no proof has been found! Also am researching Joseph SACKETT who was born about 1770, lived in Addison Co.,Vermont, married and had at least 7 children by his first wife. They may have lived in Luzerne Co., PA and later they moved to (Elba) Genessee Co. (later Orleans Co.), New York. Joseph's first wife probably died there. Later Joseph married Lucy RICE, widow of Talcott ALLEN, and they had 2 or 3 children.Joseph & Lucy Sackett moved to Jackson Co., Michigan, also may have lived in Milan, (Monroe or Washtenaw Co.), Michigan. Lucy died in Ravenna, Muskegon Co., MI.Joseph and his first wife had a sons Amos and Clark, and probably Hiram, who all lived in Jackson, Hillsdale, Washtenaw & Monroe Co. Hiram also had sisters Roxanna (Rocksy) & Susannah.Other possible sons could be a Samuel or an Isaac.Joseph's parents were Comfort & Joseph Sackett, Sr., who also lived in Addison Co., VT in the late 1790's. Any information on Joseph Sackett's anscestors and other children is needed! The HELDT/DOEBLER Family: any additions or corrections. The SANDERS/PORLIER Family: any additions or corrections.
