Percy F. Sands, 87, of 1933 Dimon St., Columbus, died Wednesday at Doctors Hospital.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday in Parkhill Cemetery, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus.
Mr. Sands was born Oct 24, 1896, in Harris Couty, Georgia., son of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Goss Sands.A Columbus resident for the past 47 years, he retired in 1974 as owner and operator of Sands Motor Colorado.He was a member of Wynnton United Methodist Church and a Shriner.
Survivors include his wife, Mary H.; two daughters, Virginia F. Culpepper of Columbus, and Jane Miller of Opelika, Ala.; a son, John F. Sands of Columbus; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
WW1 draft registration card indicates Percy had brown hair and brown eyes. Build was not provided.
