Jonathan Edward BOST (b. May 16, 1890, d. May 03, 1960)

Some would write John's name down as Jonathan, but it is said that the family bible only has "John"Edward. On census records it was also written down as Jonathan!.

Services for John E. Bost Held Saturday May 7 (1960).
Funeral services for John E. Box, 69, were held Saturday May 7, at 4pm from the First Methodist Church with the Rev. W. S. Highsmith officiating.Burial was in the City Cemetery under the direction of Peirce Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were: Wray White, R.L. (Honey) Davis, Jack James, Clifford Smith, J.R. Cone, and Roy Walker.
Honorary members were Dr. J.T. O'Banion, R.B. Krauskopf, C.G. (Rusty) Wright, Joe Seay, Reuben Ayala, Ralph Abbott, Wayman Tiller, Raymond Matthews, Lyt Callihan, Alton Rodenberg, S. A. McIntyre, Frank Coopwood, Ivan Merritt, Douglas Moore, and George Thorman.
Mr. Bost died unexpectedly at his home on May 3, 1960. He was a native of San Marcos, born on May 16, 1890. He was married in Inez, Texas on July 23, 1916 to Miss Ola E. Henry.The couple made their home in that area for 13 years before moving to Luling in 1930, where he was employed in the Post Office Department. Mr. Bost will be missed by many warm friends in this area.
He is survived by his wife; four sons, J.D. Bost of Luling, A.T. of Germany, Ellis Roy of Montgomery, Ala, and Leland F. Bost of Pearsall Four daughters, Mrs. Dale Burditt of Lockhart, Mrs. James Whelan of Ingram, Mrs. Catherine Moore of Luling, and Mrs. Clifford Conner of Harlingen. Also 9 grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. J.F. Johnson of Austin, and Mrs H.B. Jones of San Marcos.

Jones, San Marcos; Mrs Read Morgan, Bishop; Mr and MRs Clarence Van Fleet, Hondo; Mr and Mrs Alton Van Fleet, D'Hanis. Mr and Mrs Hugh Tremble,Niederland; Mr and Mrs Jesse Bost, San Antonio and Mr and Mrs Joe Jarris, Waelder; Mr and Mrs Maurice Harris, Eagle Lake; Mr and Mrs H.T. Gholson and sons, Mr and Mrs V.P. Henry,Mr and Mrs Vernon G. Henry and son, Mrs Ellis Henry, William Henry and Sandra, Mrs Claud West and Judy, Mrs Geraldine Ray, all of Houston; Mr and Mrs L.S.Henry, Port Authur; and Morris Henry of Beaumont. Numerous friends were present from out of town. .
