Notes for John Thomas REED:John Reed's obituary was in the January 17th 1917 edition of the Cuero, Texas newspaper. It has his initials as T. J. Reed. He died at home at noon on
Saturday January 12, 1917. The obit said that he had been in ill health for about a years time. He went to sleep on Wednesday and slept for forty-eight hours, until he died. It also said he had serveral grown children, one of whom was an officer in the "regular" army, somewhere near the border. This son had been in the army since the Spanish-American War. Interesting to note: Mr Reed is on the same page of the paper as Grandma Martha H. Goode, who had died the next day (Jan 13th) at age 96!The obits has both as being buried in Pilot Grove Cemetery, however Martha Goode is not at Pilot Grove.
