LDS site shows possible date of death as November 7, 1847. Possible year of marriage as 1812.
7-30-2004--I found this family in the 1840 Jackson Township Muskingum County, OH census. Household consisted of Francis and his wife. They lived right next door to James Husband family. This census indicated that both Francis and Ann were between 60 and 70.
I found a Francis Moffitt in Champaign, Ohio in 1820.
I can't find the Francis Moffitt family anywhere after 1840. I have to assume that both members of the family died.

Possible connection with Moffits who signed the New York Association Pledge in connection with the Revolution.Possible alternative spelling 'Mophett'.
5-17-2005--Will of Francis Moffitt
The state of Ohio, Muskingum County, Court of Common Pleas, November Term 1847 to November 30th 1847.
"The last will and testament of Francis Moffitt late of Muskingum County, deceased was this day produced in open court and duly proved by the oaths of William G. Filler and John Kilpatrick the two attesting and subscribing witnesses thereto whose testimony was adduced to writing and filed and it appearing to the satisfaction of the court from the said testimony that the said testator was at the time of executing his said last will and testament of full age of sound mind and memory and not under any restraint it was by the Court ordered that the said last will and testament be, and the same hereby is, admitted to probate, and that the same together with the said testimony so reduced to writing and filed as aforesaid be recorded.
WILL
In the name of the Benevolent Father of all,I Francis Moffitt of the county of Muskingum and state of Ohio do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say,
First, it is my will that my funeral expenses and all my just debts be fully paid.
Second, I give and devise unto Charles Henderson my son in law one dollar.Third, I give unto my daughter Margaret Craig fifty dollars to be paid in two years after my decease.Fourth, I give and devise unto my son in law James Husbands the farm on which he now resides situated in the township of Jackson and county of Muskingum containing about eighty acres.
Fifth, I will and devise that whatever may remain of my moveable property be sold and the amount thereof be equally divided between my two daughters Margaret Craig and Mary Husbands.
6th I give unto my son James Moffitt his hxx the sum of one dollar.
And lastly I hereby constitute and appoint William G. Filler to be the executor for this my last will and testament xxxxxxx and annulling all former wills by me made and ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto xxxmy hand and xxx that 25th day of September 1847
Signed published and declared by the above named Francis Moffitt as xxxxxx his last will and testament in presence of us who at his request to have signed and witness to the same.

7-16-2005--Harrison, Miami, Stark, Trumbull, Tuscarawas counties in Ohio all contained Moffits in 1820.A John Moffett is listed in Muskingum County tax records from 1809."Index of Ohio Tax Lists Vol. I 1806-1810"No township listed.
8-17-2005--From Jean Hooper "I was looking in a Muskingum Co. death records book the other day--just line items listed--and I no doubt have already seen and copied this info, but it concerns Francis and Ann Moffitt. ( may have already sent it to you, too.--Too many senior moments have been causing brain wash for me lately.)
They are both buried in the Frazeysburg Cemetery--Jackson Twp., Muskingum Co.Francis was born about 1777 as he was 70 years old when he died on 28 Nov. 1847.Ann's birth year was probably 1782 as she was 58 years old when she died 28 October 1840."
