- The Family of Guy Bingham Chandler (88 KB)
This is a fascinating tale of my GG Grandfather Guy Bingam Chandler and his family as told by his daughter, Lunetta Chandler Montgomery. It chronicles the family's move to Indiana and subsequent introduction into the "modern life" of the early 20th Century. The quality of the the scan was poor, but I tried to keep my editing to a minimum (despite some interesting syntax and spelling!). - Roots of Donald T. Aikenhead (13 KB)
My grandfather provides a colorful sketch of the Aikenhead, Boswell, and Godwin lines of his family tree. He writes in the context of his personal relationships with those he describes. - The Life and Family of Joseph Jay Matthews (6 KB)
Written by his grandaughter (my great aunt), Ruth Matthews Olsen, this story is as much about her memories as a young child with her Matthews grandparents as it is about him; nevertheless, she paints a nice picture of life through the eyes of a child at the turn of the century. - John Hartley Seed (6 KB)
This is a short outline with many amusing antedotes concerning the business and social life of my GG Grandfather John Hartley Seed (first in my line of Seeds to cross the Atlantic) as written by his son, Allen H. Seed. - Tales from Granny's Life or Why We Are Who We Are (9 KB)
Written for the grandchildren and great grandchildren of Eva Matthews Seed by Eva Seed Auchincloss in remembrance of her mother. Also: A Poem to my Grandmother, Eva Matthews Seed, 6/10/1903 to 11/2/1994 Written for her Memorial Service by Eva IV (Eva Auchincloss Petersen)as well as thoughts expressed by other members of the family at the memorial service. - Obituary of Nathaniel Marion, died July 11, 1839 (10 KB)
From his obituary, Nathaniel Marion appears to be one of the more pious members of our family! More Marion family lore can be found on my link to "Swamp Fox" and in the notes of Decendents of Benjamim Marion (the original Marion, a Huegenot exciled from Fance). - The Hartzogs of South Carolina (31 KB)
My Uncle Steve Aikenhead has written a colorful narrative of our Hartzog family tree. His facts and antedotes come from both his own memories and those of earlier Hartzog's, namely Henry S. Hartzog (1866-1953)through his memoirs.
