Samuel Fuller (b. April 08, 1608, d. 1683)
Notes for Samuel Fuller:
Samuel and his parents came to America on the Mayflower in the fall/winter of 1620. The first winter was severe and half of the 102 Pilgrims died before spring. Samuel's parents were part of that unfortunate group. They were buried in unmarked graves to keep the Indians from noticing how many deaths had occured, so the Indians wouldn't attack in their weakened state.Samuel must have been about 12 years old.At one time during the winter, there were only 7 individuals healthy enough to care for the 41 who were alive but ill. He is supposed to have helped care for his uncle Samuel Fuller who also came on the Mayflower and survived.
Ken's oral history always included the fact that an ancestor had come on the Mayflower. It was always thought to be Peregrine White, but I could not find any connection to him while researching the White line.
Probably Samuel and Edward Fuller were the Mayflower ancestors.New research suggests that Peregrine White's mother was the sisterof Edward Fuller, making him uncle to Perigrine and therefore Ken's family would be related to the first child born here to the Pilgrims.
