Notes for Charles Major Coalwell:
Charles and Georgianna Coalwell adopted two children of their daughter
in law, Ella Redman after Ella's death. They were her children of a different
father than William. Some sources say that they only adopted Matthew, her son
and not Nellie, but they did raise Nellie. William left for Nevada to work in
the mines after Ella died. Ella's oldest daughter of this first marriage went
to her father's parents in Oklahoma. Matthew died Dec. 8, 1966. Charles
served in the Civil War.
