I Hugh De Montfort (b. Abt. 1037, d. date unknown)

Hugh's name was also given as Hugh Barbatus De Montfort-sur-Risle and
he was called "Hugh with a beard". He was killed in a duel with Walcheline
De Ferrers. He accompanied William the Conqueror to England and held
Lordships in Kent, Romney Marsh, Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk.
