Robert liked horses, the faster the better.He liked to race horses.He also did of lot of hunting wolves and all creatures roaming at night in the woods.When he got his first car, which was an Overland, he drove as fast as the unpaved roads would tolerate.He was probably a hazard on the road.
Robert was an excellent farmer and always owned the land he farmed.He decided to leave Denton County, so he bought a farm in Clay County, northwest of Denton County.The deal had been signed and monies paid and the family was packed, ready to move.Virginia had gone down to bid farewell to her neighbors when a big storm cloud blew in, a cyclone dipped down and blew the house, barn, pigs, cattle, mules, chickens, furniture, family pictures, everything away.They were not harmed as the family was in the cellar.They went ahead with their move as they didn't have much left to move.They started over in Clay County in 1919.He is buried with his wife, Virginia, in the Blue Grove cemetery, about 8 miles outside of Henrietta, Clay County, Texas.

Virginia had a lot of illness in her life.Her Mother died when Virginia was 13 years old and she took care of her Father's house until she married at 16.She is buried with her husband in the Blue Grove cemetery, about 8 miles outside of Henrietta, Clay County, Texas.
