It appears that two sons of James Symonds named James and Thomas, stayed in the Tanner's Creek area while Robert, Henry and William moved to the southern part of the county in the Blackwater area and obtained land grants there. It also appears that each of the three sons, Robert, Henry and William had a son named John, as there were three John Simmons in the vicinity.

There is a marriage record listed inEngland but not sure if it is the right
one. This will give James Symonds a death date of 19 Sep 1671 in Norfolk
Co., VA.This doesn't compute with the date of a land deed that is posted in
James' note section for 1684.It is my belief that this is not the right
couple for this marriage listed below:
Susan Vineyard b: 1611
Married:30 Sep 1627
Hoxne, Suffolk, England
