Obil Oren Beach (son of Amos Beach and Sarah Royce) was born December 25, 1758 in Goshen, CT, and died October 05, 1846 in Plain City, Ohio.He married Elizabeth Kilbourne on June 27, 1782, daughter of Roswell Kilbourne and Irene Bacon.

His reputation was without a stain, and he lived the respected patriarch of the community in his later years, and died with no enemy in the world.He died at the home of his sone, Dr. Lorenzo Beach.He was 88 years old.
Some say he would speak at various church services.
After the age of 50 he turned over his property to his boys on the condition that they would support and care for their father and mother.Then he moved in with his son Uri, after he came to Ohio.
Ohio State Journal, Nov. 14, 1846:
"Another Vetean Fallen"
"Died on Tuesday, the 6th instant, in Darby Township, Madison County, at the residence of his son, Lorenzo, Mr. Obil Beach, aged 88 years.The deceased was father of 12 children, 8 of whom survive, 71 grandchildren, of whom 49 are living; and 51 great-grandchildren, of whom 45 are living.Fifty of his decendants attended his funeral.He was a Whig in the days that tried men's sould - and, as a Whig he ardently and valiantly fought the battles of his country.He politics being a matter of principle with him, he remained a Whig until the day of his death.He was faithful to his duty as a citizen, ever ready to assert his principles and manifest his heart's desire for the good of his country.This he did by a regular attendance at the ballot-box and by instilling upon his posterity his own sterling principles.Father Beach was for more than sixty years a professor of the Christian religion; and has for years past been waiting with patient resignation his removal from time to eternity, from the toils of earth to the Joys of Heaven."
