9.WILEY P. HARRIS4 BRYANT (ROBERTTOLBERT 'R. T.'3, WILLIAM2, WILLIAMSR.1)9 was born November 14, 1854, and died November 18, 1937 in Smith Co, MS.He married ANNA M. 'ANNIE' NORRIS, daughter of WILLIAM NORRIS and SARAH MAYFIELD.She was born March 14, 1858 in Smith Co, MS, and died August 01, 1937 in Smith Co, MS. Notes for WILEY P. HARRIS BRYANT: Roads in the 1800 and early 1900 were built from one homestead to another. So they ran along the brink of the hills and to shallow crossings in the creeks and rivers. A person would find a way to their homestead, later someone else would homestead a few miles away and extend the wagon trail to their front yard. All roads ran through the neighbor clean swept front yard. Usually the house was on one side and barns and shed on another. Homesteader after homesteader continued the wagon trails until the county was covered with a network of roads. The local county government finally began minor road improvement, but in Smith County not much improved until the middle 1900.bs Curtis Bryant said his grandpa's name was Wiley P. Bryant. He had a chair just to right of the front door where he sat and rested. There was a perfect little shiny spot worn on the wall from his head rubbing the wall. More About WILEY P.
