Michael Donner married his wife Maudlin in Switzerland and emigrated to this country in 1727. His wife's father, Benjamin Landas was a Mennonite preacher accompanied them. Their Destination was the colony of Pennsylvania and upon arrival the both purchased land grants from William Penn's sons. This land was located four miles from what is now the town of lancaster. Benjamin Landas established a church at Mallinger's Meeting House outside Lancaster on the road that is now Route 3. The first minister was Benjamin landas and since it's founding in 1727, a member of the Landis family has been the minister, except for a four year period. Michael built his home on land about one mile from
Mallinger's Meeting House on Mill Creek. The house was built of stone.
