Anna was a remarkable Floyd researcher, and David Mordy, <Dlmordy@aol.com>, notes in this message on Sep. 2, 2003 a bit more of her life:
"I have Anna Cartlidge's birth date as 24 Dec 1906; died 18 Apr 1987 in Georgia.
"We are all indebted to her for her many years of patient research. It would have been wonderful if she had used her information to publish the 'Floyd Family History' in a format similar to some of the other major family histories, for the benefit of all and for the credit that she should have.
"After her death, a cousin named Jeanette Bernardini had Anna's files and papers. Jeanette threw together a poorly organizedcollection of this material. This was nicely bound into a volume at the DAR in Washington DC with Bernardini's name on the volume as the sole author-- no credit to Anna Cartlidge [hopefully this has been rectified to give some Anna some credit, but I don't know].Let it be a lesson to all of us. Publish while you are still living.Dave"A good point, Dave.
