From what I understand from mother, Homer at one time worked on the Railroad.Homer took daddy to work with him one time and was on a car you must make go with handle and pull bar. They were some were between the coast and Beaumont and I think they hit another car and cough daddy's legs in between, crushing them. He was taken to a hospital in Beaumont, a St Mary's or like. A Catholic hospital and had to have his leg amputated. Mother said they wanted to cut off the other one as well but Homer would have none of it.Daddy gave a bible to mother once and the address inside was P.O. Box 146 Beckville, Texas. Mother told me that at one time daddy was over all of Texas for M.H.M.R. Social Service. He would go to nursing home's to cheek to see if they met the Stases standard in order to send a patent there. Mother, many a time would go with him on these trips. Daddy's service was at Hyltin Manor Chapel, Austin Texas at 4:00 P.M. Sep. 11, 1970 with Dr. Robert Tate officiating.
