1.NATHANAEL D.2 AYCOCK (RICHARD1) was born 1810 in North Carolina, USA, and died 1859 in Freestone Co., Texas.He married (1) FRANCES JANE TEAGUE September 01, 1836 in Morgan, Alabama, USA, daughter of James Teague and Jane Fowler.He married (2) HARRIETT W. HARVEY March 03, 1858 in Freestone, Texas, USA.
Notes
Fought in War for Texas Independence. Was at battle of San Jacinto with Sam Houston. Granted 320 acres later changed to 640 acres near Palestine in Anderson County according to a certificate dated Dec 4, 1839. The land was surveyed to be 8 miles north and 70 degrees west of Palestine, TX. Sold land in 1844. Later information says Nathanael entered Texas 11-1839 after battle of San Jacinto. Land record at Texas Land office in Austin.
Parents Richard Aycock and Nancy Bradford Aycock may be error.May have been Edmond Aycock and Ruthy Dunn Aycock per Alan Aycock - 1995.
Nathanael was made administrator of the estate of his wife upon her death.Her brother, Jown Fowler Teague, took over as administrator upon Nathanael's death.The following is an inventory of property, dated Sep. 24, 1860.
7 Negros, 160 acres of land, being the N 1/2 of the W. A. Cobb 320 acre survey, 2 feather beds, 1 bay mare and colt, 1 bay mare, 1 yoke of oxen, and community property consisting of S 1/2 of the W. A. Cobb 320 acre survey, 1 feather bed, 1 old Negro, 4 bedsteads, and 15 head of cattle.On April 30, 1861 there was the addition of 1 mare and colt, and some Negros.
The following sales and dates are listed.
Dec 11, 1860, a Negro woman, Mary, for $495.00
Sep 10, 1861, 1 bay mare and colt to J. M. Aycock for $73.75, 9 Hogs to James Yancey for $15.00, 4 hogs to E. M. Dillard for $20.00
The real property was sold to Abediah Bean who made the following notes to the estate.
1 note for $300.00 due Jan 1, 1870, 1 note for $300.00 due Jan 1, 1871, and 1 note for $300.00 due Jan 1, 1872.
