My name is Raymond R. Viverette, Jr. and I am researching the descendants of Thomas Viverette (Vivrett,Vivret, Viverett).
Thomas Viverett appears in Nash County, NC, in the 1700s. He married the widow Elizabeth Hickman Dew, with whom he had four sons: Henry, Lancelot, Micajah, and James. Henry died childless as far as we know and the other three carry on the family name in America. Micajah and Lancelot migrated to Wilson County, Tennessee, sometime after 1800. James remained in Nash County where he reared a large family of 10 children.
Today Viverettes/Vivretts/Vivrettes are concentrated in North Carolina, Missouri, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Texas.
