James Lindsay, son of Sir Jerome Lindsay, born in 1650's came to the United States of America in 1674.He was living in Gloucester County, Virginia and owned 300 acres of land.It is not known whom he married, but he had four sons that he brought with him from Scotland and also John Lindsay, who was either his brother or cousin.James had a land grant (1674) for 390 acres in Gloucester County, Birginia (Patents6, 1666-1679 Reel 6, page 549, Virginia State Library, Richmond, Virginia.)His sons were born in Scotland but grew to manhood in Birginia.
