Because of different writing styles in the days before typewriters, letters sometimes were mistaken for other letters.Wilkenson sometimes was taken as Wilkerson.Also, Rosanah was sometimes spelled Rosina.On page 223 of Book H on deeds in which David and Rosina sold their property in 1881, she is identified as Rosina Victoria Ward.(They were married in 1871)
Adair County records on wills and special courts, page 22, dated February 5th, 1866 shows the following for Rosanna and her siblings.
Top of page 422."Guardian to said James T. Wilkinson, Sarah E. Wilkinson and Miltilda C. Wilkinson, minors of M.B. Wilkinson Dec'd he having taken the oath required by law and executed and acknowledged a covenant to the common wealth of Kentucky with Wm A Blair his surety conditioned as required by law".
"Rosina V. Wilkinson and Charles M Wilkinson being above the age of fourteen years this day came into open court and nominated Peter Workman and Jesse Wilkinson Jr. as their Guardian - and it appearing to the satisfaction of the court that Bidsy H. Wilkinson has relinquished her right in writing to be appointed guardian to John Wilkinson.Mary E. Wilkinson and Joanna Wilkinson and request the court to appoint said Peter Workman and Jesse Wilkinson Jr. as guardian to said John M. Wilkinson.Mary E. Wilkinson and Joanna Wilkinson - which instrument of writing was proven by the oath of George Rosenbaum subscribing witness there to which is ordered to filed there upon on the motion of said Peter Workman and Jesse Wilkinson Jr. ordered that they be and they are hereby appointed guardian to said Rosina V., Charles M, John M, Mary E. and Joanna Wilkinson - minors of M. B. Wilkinson Dec's - they having taken the oath required by law and executed and acknowledged a covenant to the Commonwealth of Kentucky with Jesse Wilkinson Sr. by Jesse Wilkinson Jr. their surety conditioned as required by law.Said Peter Workman and Jesse Wilkinson produced in open court the written authority from said Jesse Wilkinson Sr. authorizinghis name to be signed as the surety of said Peter Workman and Jesse Wilkinson Jr. in their bond as guardian to said minors.Said instrument of writing was proven by the oath of C.M. Wilkinson subscribing witness thereto who (has) proved the attestation of G.A. Wilkinson the other subscribing witness thereto, which writing is ordered to be filed."
