1.After working at his blacksmith trade, Col Stanwood went into the lumbering and ship-building business in patnership with John Dunlap of Brunswick, and became successful and wealthy. He also owned 3 large farms.
2He was a prominent man in Brunswick, serving as selectman for several years,and as Represantative , 1794 and 1795.
3.He also served on the Board of Overseers of Bowdoin College.
4.His other 2 wives were Emmah Thompson and Ruth Thompson.
