"I was a housewife for nine years before beginning my career. In 1962 I was hired at University of Michigan Hospital as a nurse aide. Two years later I transferredto a secretarial position and in 1966 I transferred to the Department of Radiation Oncology to train for the position of radiation therapist. The field was wide open at that time so I became a pioneer in that field. I retired from that position in 1996. I am a member of Cathedral of Faith and am Head of the Nurses and Nursery workers."- Myrtle Mays
