From Carol Hennessey Novak, 23 Feb 2002: "....Emil Fricker, jr. whose claim to fame is as the last man hugh in Madison County."Buried in St. Joseph RC Cemetery in Highland. Emil, Jr., was hanged for murder sometime after World War I (16 Apr 1926).He coerced two of his farm workers to shoot the husband (John Nungesser) of his milkmaid (Minnie Schlicht), whom he wanted.A lurid version of the story, written either by Emil's widow or the widow of the victim for needed cash, was published in True Detective Magazine. One of Elizabeth & Emil Sr.'sdaughters moved away at the time of their brother's scandal.The other stayed on in Trenton.The Zimmermans, Reichert (Gus m.Flora Fricker) and Frickers are all buried in St. Joseph RC Cemetery in Highland, Illinois.
